Who this article is for
This article is for:
Borrowers who need to update information in their application
Anyone who made a mistake during pre-qualification or the full application
People who received an error message or correction request from Nestwise
How to correct application errors
Most application errors are easy to fix and can be corrected directly in your Nestwise dashboard. Here’s how to update your information and avoid delays in underwriting.
1. Fixing typos or incorrect personal information
If you notice a mistake in:
Your name
Date of birth
Social Security Number
Contact information
Address history
You can update most of these items by:
Going to your Profile section
Editing the incorrect field
Saving your updated information
If an item is locked (such as SSN), contact support. Certain fields must remain secure.
2. Correcting income information
If you entered the wrong:
Income amount
Employment dates
Employer information
Job status
You can make edits by:
Opening the Income & Employment section
Editing the relevant employer or income line
Uploading any updated documents if needed
Nestwise may request documentation to support the correction.
3. Updating asset or banking information
If you entered incorrect:
Bank balances
Account types
Asset amounts
Source of down payment
You can update these by:
Opening the Assets section
Editing the specific account
Re-uploading bank statements if needed
Be sure the information matches your documents to avoid further review.
4. Updating property details
If the property details need to be corrected — such as:
Address
Purchase price
Loan amount
Property type
You can make changes in the Property Information section of your application.
If you changed homes during the process, contact support so we can update all records correctly.
5. Fixing errors flagged by Nestwise
Sometimes Nestwise will flag an item during review.
Common examples include:
Missing pages of tax returns
Incorrectly uploaded files
Income mismatches
Number formatting issues
Items that need clarification
You’ll see these items listed clearly in your dashboard under Required Documents or Conditions.
To resolve them:
Read the request carefully
Upload or update the correct item
Add a note if clarification is needed
6. What to do if you can’t change a field
Some fields are locked after submission for compliance reasons, such as:
Social Security Number
Date of birth
Certain income fields
Underwriting-certified sections
If you need to change something that’s locked:
Contact support through chat or email
Tell us what needs correcting
We’ll update it securely or guide you through the next step
7. Avoid changing information during underwriting unless necessary
Once your loan is in underwriting, avoid updating information unless:
You find a clear mistake
Nestwise asks you to correct it
A major change happens (job change, asset change, property change)
Unnecessary changes can reset or slow the review.
